Adam Gets His Own Back

Adam was busy watching some classic episodes of a game show that aired a lot in the UK. It was called Get Your Own Back. He loved it. It was something he used to watch when he was a child.
"Ah, those parents just don't learn from their mistakes," he sighed.
"Why do they get dunked in that kind of mystery stuff?" I asked.
"It's the Gunk Dunk. Whenever the child answered enough questions correctly, their parents would used to get dunked afterward," said Adam.
"Boy, those kids must have had some embarrassing parents," said Rod.
"That's for sure," said Kiki.
"Some of them I feel should have won to teach their parents a lesson," said Sabrina.
"That girl who had her mom treating her like a celebrity sure would have given her a good dunking if she had the chance," said Adam.
"It's like the Double Dare of the UK. It reminds me quite a bit of those game shows Nickelodeon used to show," I said.
"Yeah, it does. Doesn't it?" Rod agreed.
"Well, it was a great show. I could have made a good contestant if I was embarrassed," said Adam.
"Sometimes, I wonder if those relatives really did do something like that," said Sabrina.
"They wouldn't be on there if they didn't," said Kiki.
"Ah, those were the days," said Adam.
"Come on. We've got some duty to get to," said Rod.
We all got suited up and headed off.

Meanwhile, Bowser, Wario, Eggman, Alexis, and Condor were feeling a little bored.
"Ho hum. Nothing to do," Eggman sighed.
"Anyone wanna cause some mindless destruction?" Alexis suggested.
"Did that last week," said Bowser.
"How about some dictatorship?" Condor suggested.
"Nah, never works out," said Bowser.
"Pollute the air?" Wario suggested.
"You always do that with your garlic addiction," said Alexis.
Wario's breath was really bad.
"Oh well. Let's just go and do what we do best," said Bowser.
They all got up and were ready to go with the attack on the city just like always.

As we did our duties, we came across them doing just that. They were robbing places, attacking citizens, and trying to take the city in their name.
"Oh, great. It's them again," said Adam.
"Just like those parents, those guys never learn either," said Kiki.
"Well, time to go and knock some sense into them," said Rod.
"Assuming they'll come to their senses upon the beatdown," said Sabrina.
We hurried on over with no time to lose and came across them all at the same time.
"Well, well, well. If it isn't the new JUMP agents," said Bowser.
"Boy, you guys really know how to ruin the fun, don't you?" Condor asked.
"Sorry, Condor. You may be someone I created, but that doesn't mean I can let you go," said Rod.
"That goes double for you, Alexis," I added.
"Didn't think so," said Alexis.
"You know, we always do this kind of thing. We cause havoc, you come in, we fight, we have the upper hand and corner you, a miracle comes up at the last minute to save your butts, and we're defeated and sent away to the slammer," Eggman detailed.
"That's true. It always happens," said Kiki.
"How about we just get this over with and just turn ourselves in?" Bowser suggested.
"Nah, that's no fun," said Rod.
"We wish to do it the right way," said Adam.
"Well, what can we do? We know we'll lose at the end," Wario complained.
We thought about it and then Adam had an idea.
"How would you like to play a little game with us?" he suggested.
"We're listening," said Condor.
"We'll have one round of the classic game show Get Your Own Back," said Adam.
"I think I heard of that show. That's the one in your nation that had kids trying to get revenge on their parents for making them go through some seriously embarrassing moments with their seriously embarrassing qualities, right?" Eggman asked.
"That's the one," said Adam.
"But how are we gonna compete on the show? It hasn't been on in years," Bowser asked.
"Oh, we'll think of something," said Rod.

We got Mario and Luigi to come over and set up the old set for the show.
"So, this is what you want us to do?" Mario asked.
"That's right. Host this special episode of Get Your Own Back. If we win, the villains will go quietly," said Sabrina.
"If we lose, then they actually get to have things run their way and rule the world," said Kiki.
"Boy, that sounds risky. You sure you can do it?" Luigi asked.
"We're gonna win. You know how these stories work out," I told them.
"Yeah, we'll be fine," said Rod.
"If you say so," said Mario.
The Gearmos were busy setting up some special challenges for this.
"Everything is all set," said the Gold Gearmo.
"Excellent! Now we can begin the funnest battle of truth and justice!" said Adam.
"Boy, it's gonna be fun all right," I agreed.
The villains showed up and saw the set.
"Hm...not bad. Sure brings back memories," said Eggman.
"Now then, I know how the original show went, but just for the record, we made a few changes to the rules," said Adam.
"What do you mean?" Condor asked.
"Instead of just a kid and their relative, we're going to have a full group of five on five and compete for the most points and the chance to humiliate each other. The team that loses will be sent on my patented Ghost Train!" said Adam.
The Ghost Train was set up for its tunnel ride.
"Man, I hate it in there," said Wario.
"We gotta win," said Alexis.
"And then the ride ends with the losing team plunging into the Gunk Tank," said Adam.
The substance was as gunky as ever from its old days on the show.
"This is gonna be a sticky situation," said Alexis.
"Not original," Wario pointed out.
"Good luck," said Rod.
"Yeah. You'll need it," said Condor.

Everyone was showing up for the broadcast of the show's revival. It was a full house.
"Boy, look at this crowd," said Kiki.
"They're all here to see us compete on this show," said Sabrina.
"Tell us again. Why do we have to wear these T-shirts?" Condor asked.
"To symbolize your team's color and not to be confused with who's on your side," said Adam.
"I doubt we could mistake your teammates for our own," said Bowser.
"Yeah. Seriously?" Eggman asked.
"We'll just see who to goo," I stated.
"Now, places people! The show's about to start! The crowd's eager to see you in action!" said Mario.
Everyone got into position.
"Now's our cue, bro!" said Luigi.
The show had started.

As clips with certain minigames from different video games and minigames from the show itself, Mario and Luigi came out with the exact same poses and made their way to the center of the stage.
"Hello, everyone! Welcome to the first episode of the revival of Get Your Own Back, the messiest and craziest game show ever!" Mario announced. "I'm Mario!"
"And I'm Luigi!" Luigi added.
"And we're gonna see who's gonna battle out here!"
"Let's introduce the teams!"
Adam and Bowser came on out.
"The team in Yellow is led by Adam and dubbed the Diamond Sparkles and the team in Green is led by Bowser and dubbed the Sonic Booms!" Mario announced.
The crowd either cheered for or booed at the leaders depending on whether they were good or evil.
"So, Bowser, being a long time rival of mine, I would know you wanna get back at Adam and his friends for a good reason," said Mario.
"You got it, Mario," said Bowser.
"And Luigi is going to tell us why!" said Mario.
Luigi showed clips of what we did in day to day life.
"Adam is destined to be a great hero and do the right thing! Whenever he sees something unjust going on, he has to go and right it before it is too late! He does what it takes to be a good citizen and bring the peace to the land!" Luigi explained for Adam.
"I'm a Brainiac! Brainiac! On the dance floor!" said Adam.
"Rod takes on people he doesn't like as long as they are some of the worst characters in the world! If it's a character he likes, he will show mercy to them and show his respect and liking to them! But it's mainly the ones he can't stand that will rue the day he meets them! He has a great artistic calibur of many things he is a big fan of to show his dedication and loyalty! He can also shapeshift into any form he pleases!" Luigi explained about Rod.
"I know, huh?" Rod quoted.
"Kiki is a nature lover who likes many cute things and doesn't take kindly to some strangers who are not willing to put others' needs before their own! She is also very fond of many Pokemon and classic cartoons! She also doesn't take kindly to people who use certain names and words. She has the power of speed and camouflage!" Luigi explained about Kiki.
"You can't beat the classics! Zaru!" Kiki stated.
"Sabrina is a very kind heart person who doesn't like violence at all. She prefers love over war. It is her duty to make sure that people feel the love in more ways than one!" Luigi explained about Sabrina.
"All you need is love!" Sabrina quoted.
"Andrew is a bit like Rod with liking the same things as him. But he is more of a writer than an artist. He and Rod are seen as kindred spirits. He can also turn any part of his body into a certain kind of weapon!" Luigi explained about me.
"Righto!" I commented.
"And all of them are part of the Justice Upholding Missionary Program, or JUMP for short," Luigi added.
"WE JUMP INTO ACTION! DUNK THOSE VILLAINS IN THE GUNK!" we all stated.
That was it for us.
"That does it for what the Diamond Sparkles are capable of. Let's bring them out!" Mario announced.
The Gearmos brought us out on stage where the heroes cheered for us and the villains booed at us.
"Now then, Adam, you wish to get back at the Sonic Booms, right?" Mario asked.
"You got it. They are such a pain," said Adam.
"Well, let's see what the Sonic Booms are like," said Mario. "Luigi, if you please."
Luigi showed what the Sonic Booms were like starting with Bowser.
"Bowser is the King of the Koopa Klan and an evil one at that. His intentions are clear and simple. His goal in life is to take the hand of Princess Peach and make her his queen! But thankfully, Mario and I won't let that happen. As for him, he breathes fire and terrorizes everything in sight when anyone tries to fight him. He also has a son," Luigi explained about Bowser.
Bowser was shown laughing evilly as his comment.
"Wario is a greedy, self-centered, rude treasure hunter and also Mario's identical rival. The one thing he cares about is money. He's so greedy, he'll forget what others think and take what he can grab. He is also very much addicted to garlic. Every time he sees it, he eats it. He would be the perfect vampire repellent. He is also a bit of a slob which is very unforgivable," Luigi explained for Wario.
"It's-a me, Wario!" Wario commented.
"Dr. Eggman is an evil genius who has had a long battle with Sonic the Hedgehog for many years! No matter what, Sonic always manages to 1-Up him despite his IQ of 300 and smash apart his robot army. He also intends to get his hands on the Chaos Emeralds," Luigi explained about Eggman.
"HO HO HO HO HO!" Eggman laughed.
"Alexis is a sneaky girl who has stolen a prototype suit from JUMP. It allows her to use Sonic Booms, hence the name of the team, and cause all sorts of horrific noises! Much like female members of JUMP, her suit comes with an airbag feature, but inflates twice as big! Though it could prove to be a hindrance if she's not careful. She would do anything to get back at JUMP for ruining her fun," Luigi explained about Alexis.
"The hills are alive with the sound of evil!" Alexis commented.
"Condor is a member of the Conjurians, a race of magical beings who have had their home taken away by the dark entity known as Deceassus. Condor fled from the horror and left her family and people to suffer whatever fate that was to come. But they escaped as well. Condor uses dark magic that her people have forbidden in their tribe for her amusement. She is also aware of Deceassus and considers allying with him," Luigi explained about Condor.
"I put a spell on you!" Condor commented.
"WE DO WHAT WE WANT! DUNK THE GOODY TWO-SHOES!" they all stated together.
"And let's bring out the teammates for the Sonic Booms," said Mario.
The Gearmos brought out the other villains. The villains in the audience cheered for them while the heroes booed at them.
"So, you're all really eager to fight out there," said Mario.
"Oh yeah. We're eager," said Rod.
"And we wanna show them that truth always triumphs," said Kiki.
"These people are an abomination to society and must be dealt with as such," said Adam.
"I see that's how you feel about the Sonic Booms," said Mario.
"And we're more than ready to get back at them for humiliating us," said Eggman.
"Yeah. Like that one game show that was from Japan. What was it called again?" Alexis brought up.
"Mt. Mega Crazy Funtime," Bowser recalled.
"Oh yeah," Alexis remembered.
"We villains have been unappreciated for too long, and now the time has come to show you all that we mean business and evil will have its day!" said Bowser.
"Such strong words," said Mario.
"As you can see, there have been a few adjustments to the game since its original version. We're doing things different," Luigi stated.
"That's right. One player on both teams will be in the game's main points while their teammates try to stop their opponents from completing their goals in anyway they can," said Mario.
The teams looked on at each other with great intensity.
"They're all fired up, Mario!" said Luigi.
"Then let's get to the first game!" Mario announced.

Mean and Lean

"Here's our first round of the day! It's a game we like to call Mean and Lean," said Mario.
Adam and Bowser were standing on different courses that looked the same.
"The rules are simple. Adam, Bowser, you will both try to collect the different items from the Mario series from the question block and put it in your basket. But the catch is that your opponents are underneath you and will try to knock you around a bit. If you fall off, it's all right. You'll be put back on at the spot you started your run at. Each item is worth ten points for each basket. There are ten in all," Luigi explained.
The Diamond Sparklers were underneath Bowser's course, and the Sonic Booms were underneath Adam's.
"Ready, set, go!" said Mario.
Adam and Bowser were off. Under their platforms were their opponents trying to stop them from doing what they could to get the items. Adam had a little trouble at first. Bowser wasn't fazed much until the other players started shaking harder.
"Whoa! Watch it!" Bowser yelped.
"Shake harder!" said Rod.
We all shook as hard as we could.
"Come on! My booty shakes better than that!" said Alexis.
"TMI! Nobody wants to hear about your booty!" said Wario.
They were leaning the platforms all around to make them lose their balance. Adam grabbed a mushroom and Bowser grabbed a Fire Flower. They managed to get the items into the basket. Adam rushed back to get another item, but his enemies knocked him off the platform and had to try again.
"Nice try, Adam! Keep going!" Mario encouraged.
Bowser got a star and put it in the basket. Adam quickly got a Koopa Troopa shell and got it in the basket. He ran back and got a feather. Bowser got a coin. They both were on fire. A few more items were gathered and thrown in the basket. Bowser fell off and dropped one with Adam getting ahead of it. He stood his ground and got all the items in his basket.
"Time's up!" said Mario.
"That was tipsy," said Adam.
"Now, let's see how Adam did. He got...one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten! He got all ten items! And over to Bowser. He got one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. Eight items. Very good, guys!" said Mario.
"And that puts the Diamond Sparklers in the lead with 100 points and the Sonic Booms behind with 80 points," Luigi updated.
The heroes were happy, but the villains were not.
"Now, let's go to the next round," said Mario.

Up And At 'Em!

It was now me and Wario.
"It's time to play Up and At 'Em! In this game, Andrew and Wario are going to be climbing up to the top of two towers that placed right in front of them," said Mario.
"That's right. But it won't be such an easy climb as their opponents will try to knock them back with any means necessary to save their ally," Luigi explained.
"They'll also slide down to the bottom and climb it again! Each climb is worth ten points! Now let's begin!" said Mario.
The light turned green and Wario and I were off. We were both off to good starts.
"Here he comes!" said Kiki.
"Don't let him get away!" said Eggman.
The players each blew their fans at us and tried to knock us off.
"I'm not gonna fall down!" I said.
"You'll have to do better than that!" said Wario. He kept on climbing while I struggled against the wind.
"Wario's girth seems to be keeping him from being blown away easily," said Sabrina.
"That's not fair!" Adam thought.
"We can still beat him!" said Rod.
Wario made his first lap just as I was halfway done with mine. Wario got way ahead and I was falling behind. After my first lap, Wario started his third.
"Wario is doing great!" said Luigi.
"Can Andrew catch up?" Mario wondered.
"Blow Andrew away!" said Condor.
She and Eggman did a combo blow and nearly knocked me off. But I didn't stop. I was catching up with all my might. Wario was ahead by three laps. By then, the clock had hit zero.
"Stop right there!" said Mario.
We all stopped our actions.
"Now, let's take a look. Wario made it through seven laps on the climbing and Andrew only managed to do four. That's 70 points for the Sonic Booms and 40 points for the Diamond Sparklers!" said Mario. "Now, let's go to the score!"
"Well, Mario, it looks like the Sonic Booms are up in more ways than one! They're ahead with 150 points while the Diamond Sparklers trail behind with 140 points! But it's still anyone's game!" Luigi updated.
"Sorry, guys. I guess there were a few slip ups there," I apologized.
"Well, it's not your fault. These games are tricky," Rod forgave.
"But we still can't afford to lose," said Adam.
"Now it's time for the next round!" Mario announced.

Summoning Circle

"Who's ready to play Summoning Circle?" Mario asked.
It was now Rod VS Eggman.
"Ready!" they said together.
"Now, you both have giant pencils and on these special pieces of paper, a character's face is drawn. You have to draw a circle around the character as fast as you can. But be careful. You opponents can come in and erase it to stop it from being complete," Mario explained.
The opponents were holding giant erasers.
"We're gonna rub them out!" said Alexis.
"We're gonna erase them from existence!" said Kiki.
"Each character you summon is worth ten points. So, let the game begin!" Mario announced.
The first character Rod was to summon was a Goomba while Eggman was summoning a Darumaka. They were drawing their circles around them as fast as they can. Their opponents rushed out with the erasers and started to erase as much as they could from it.
"They're burning rubber out there!" said Mario.
Rod finished summoning the Goomba and Eggman got the Darumaka out. Next, Rod had to summon a Metroid and Eggman was getting a Specknose.
"Rub it out! Rub it out! Rub it out!" I chanted.
Rod managed to get the Metroid out. Eggman was still working on the Specknose. Then Rod was to summon Wreck-It Ralph.
"Don't let him circle him!" said Condor.
Rod got Ralph out and Eggman got the Specknose. Then Rod had to get Toad and Eggman needed Cubot.
"Oh no. Not him," Eggman groaned.
They were circling away with Rod taking a big lead with circling Toad. Our team kept rubbing out Eggman's circle.
"This is ridiculous!" Eggman complained.
"It'll be even more ridiculous if you lose this thing!" Alexis warned him.
Rod got his next summon which was Donkey Kong. Eggman finally got Cubot. Soon enough, Rod got Bugs Bunny, Rolf from Ed, Edd n Eddy, Mabel Pines, and Larry Koopa. Eggman got a Chaos Emerald and a Ninjask. Soon, time was up.
"Stop it right there!" said Mario. "Let's see how many characters Rod summoned. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine characters summoned. And for Eggman, we have one, two, three, four, five. That's 90 for yellow and 50 for green!"
"And with the scores set in stone, that puts the Diamond Sparklers at 230 points and the Sonic Booms at a steady 200," Luigi updated.
Everyone was getting intense on this.
"Now for the next game!" Mario announced.

Blast From The Past

"Now it's time to play a favorite of ours: Blast From The Past!" said Mario.
Sabrina and Condor were playing this game.
"The rules are simple. The players have to collect bombs and blast them through an endless cycle of boulders until time's up," said Luigi.
"But watch out. Your opponents have fire extinguishers which they can use to put out the fuses on the bombs, thus making them duds," Mario warned them as each helper had a fire extinguisher on their hands.
"You can keep the bomb out of reach if possible," said Luigi.
"Each boulder you destroy is worth ten points! Blast away until time runs out! Now, begin!" said Mario.
The game began and Sabrina and Condor were doing their best to keep the bombs out of reach from the other players.
"I can't reach it!" said Kiki.
"Andrew, you're the tallest! Can you put it out?" Adam asked.
Even I couldn't reach it.
"Not by a mile," I answered.
Bowser put out Sabrina's bomb.
"Got it!" he said.
"Drat!" said Sabrina.
She got another bomb just as Condor's first boulder was destroyed.
"Not bad for a supernova," she thought.
Sabrina tossed her bomb up to the top of her boulder. None of the villains could reach it.
"It's too high!" said Alexis.
"That clever little girl," said Eggman.
The bomb blew up and Sabrina's first boulder was destroyed. But Condor was able to get a few short fuses to get them blowing up faster.
"Looks like Condor found a few lucky short fused bombs," said Mario.
"Indeed. Sabrina had better hope to get one if she wants to catch up," said Luigi.
They blew up the boulders here and there and the other players put the fuses out whenever possible. The clock was counting down. Condor seemed to be four boulders ahead. And at the end, the clock hit zero before the final bombs could go off.
"And time's up!" said Mario.
"Just in time. I think our extinguishers ran out," said Wario.
"Let's take a look," said Mario. "Sabrina blew up...five boulders. And Condor blew up twice as many! That gives yellow 50 and green 100!" said Mario.
"And that game really blew me away! And the scores are exploding with excitement!" Luigi punned.
The heroes laughed and the villains groaned.
"At that, the Yellow Team has 280 points while the Green Team has 300 points on the nose!" Luigi updated.
The villains were excited as we looked down.
"We were so close on that one," said Rod.
"I apologize for the ill luck," Sabrina apologized.
"We'll get them in the next one. Don't worry," said Kiki.
"Now, we're gonna take a short break and be back with more!" said Mario.

We went to commercial break to rest up a bit.
"Boy, this game is really intense," I thought.
"It was one of the best the CBBC ever had," said Adam.
"You think we can still win?" Sabrina asked.
"You guys really wanna win and humiliate us more, don't you?" Alexis asked.
"We heroes aren't out to humiliate villains. We just need to put them in their place," Rod responded.
"Yeah, I can see that. But just so you know, we're in the lead, so you'd better be careful that you don't have the low score in the final game," said Eggman.
"Oh, just wait and see," said Adam.
"The crowd is definitely enjoying this. I think the show would be up for a real revival," said Mario.
"Are the ratings and viewership necessary?" Condor asked.
"It is sometimes," said Luigi.
"We gotta go. The show's coming back on," said Mario.

The commercials were over.
"And welcome back to the special edition of Get Your Own Back! Right now, the Sonic Booms lead with 300 while the Diamond Sparklers trail behind with 280!" said Mario.
"But before we get to the next game, let's get another talk with our players!" said Luigi.

Boo Who?

"It's time to let our players get in one more reason why they shouldn't have to go on the Ghost Train! They both have ten seconds to plead their cases! Adam, you go first," said Mario.
"The Ghost Train is my thing. I shouldn't have to ride my own thing. And I'm a hero. And so are my friends. We just can't suffer such a horrible fate. It's out of line. Don't make us-" Adam was pleading just as his ten seconds were up.
"That was a good one there. Now let's go to Bowser and his case," said Mario.
"All I can say is that villains have a place here  too. We ought to win once in a while. You treat us like punching bags. Just let us have this one time and-" Bowser said just as his time was up.
"Hm...not bad. You may have a reason," said Mario.
"Who should get frightened?" Luigi asked.
"Anyone here who thinks Adam and his friends should ride the Ghost Train, let us hear it!" Mario announced.
The villains were really hoping for that while the heroes hoped it was gonna be avoided.
"And those who think Bowser and his posse should face such a fate, give us your feedback!" said Luigi.
The heroes wanted that to happen for sure while the villains remained silent.
"And now, let's get to our last game before the final round!" said Mario.

Ring Master

Kiki was wearing a little jet pack.
"Welcome to the last game, Ring Master! The player has to fly through the rings in the air while the opponents try to make them miss it by moving them around. Kiki, your team is falling behind, so we'll start with you," said Mario.
"Thanks," said Kiki.
"Now, while you fly, your opponents will move around different rings making it more difficult to fly through them. You have to be extra careful and hope you fly through as many as possible. Each ring you fly through is worth ten points," said Mario.
"Got it," said Kiki.
"On your mark...get set...go!" Mario announced.
Kiki flew off for the rings and soared through the first one and turned toward the next one. She flew through that one. Now the rings were being moved by her opponents.
"Don't let her get it!" said Bowser.
"Trying not to!" said Condor.
Kiki missed one, but she got through the other. She wasn't going down so easily. The villains moved the rings faster to make it harder for her to fly through.
"Come on! Make it faster!" said Eggman.
"This is about as fast as we can get!" said Eggman.
Kiki had flown through seven rings when the time was halfway up. The villains moved them in different patterns.
"I'd better wait a sec," Kiki thought. She waited for the right moment on a few rings and flew through them. She got through a few more rings just as there were only five seconds left. She was about to fly through her last one, but Eggman pulled that one away in time.
"And time's up!" said Mario.
"I just missed that last one," said Kiki.
"And let's see how many rings you flew through," said Mario. They looked at the chart and Kiki flew through 13 rings.
"That's 13 rings in all! That makes it 130 points for you!" said Mario.
"Sweet!" said Kiki.
If Alexis was to win her team the advantage in the final round, she needed to fly through 12 rings.
"All right, Alexis, let's see if you can make it through as many rings necessary to get your team the advantage in the final round!" said Mario.
"Oh, I will," said Alexis.
She was ready and so were we.
"Ready...set...go!" said Mario.
Alexi was flying pretty fast.
"Look at her go!" said Rod.
"We gotta get moving!" said Adam.
We were moving the rings around as fast as we could, but she was hitting them spot on.
"It's no use! She's too fast! Her speed is boggling!" said Sabrina.
"Boggling? That's it! Let's boggle the rings!" said Adam.
"Sounds good to me!" said Rod.
"Boggle away!" I declared.
We all boggled the rings around to make them almost impossible for Alexis to get on through.
"I won't let you stop me so easily!" said Alexis.
She waited for the right moment and flew on through. She flew through ring after ring and was about to make her tenth ring at the ten second mark.
"She can't possibly make it!" said Rod.
But we were wrong. At the last three seconds, she got through the 12th ring.
"And time's up!" said Mario.
"That was a doozy," said Alexis.
"Let's check the ring total," said Mario.
They checked it and saw that Alexis flew through 12.
"12! That's 120 points!" said Mario.
"Now, let's show you the ringer of the final scores! The Diamond Sparklers have a total of 410 points, but the Sonic Booms come from behind with 420 points!" said Luigi.
"Oh no! We lost by 10 points!" I gasped.
"We were so close!" Adam lamented.
"Now, it's time for the final round!" said Mario.

Ghost Train

The stage was set for the final round. Two Ghost Trains were set for the passengers to go through the horrific tunnel and drop into the Gunk Tank.
"This is it! The final round is here! This will determine who will be forced to take a ride down the scary Ghost Train into the Gunk Tank!" Mario announced.
We were facing off against our opponents.
"In this final round, Adam and Bowser, you will each try to answer a question correctly. If you do, that will keep you safe and capture one of the opponent's teammates onto their Ghost Train. But, if you get it wrong, then you will lose a teammate to the Ghost Train. The team that gets all five members on their train first loses and the other team will go free," Mario explained.
"And the winning team will win a fabulous 6-month vacation for five to...Japan! The home of Nintendo!" Luigi announced.
"I like the sound of that," said Alexis.
"We can do this!" said Adam.
We weren't sure about the prize as long as we sent away the villains.
"Now, before we begin, the Sonic Booms had the most points by the end here, so that means they get an advantage. The Diamond Sparklers will have to start with only four of you. The Ghost Train will randomly pick one of the four not playing to get sent on board," said Mario.
The Ghost Train picked Sabrina and strapped her in nice and tight.
"I'm scared," she panicked.
"If only we at least tied," Adam muttered.
"Now, here's the first question! In Kid Icarus Uprising, what is the name of the Goddess of Nature?" Mario asked.
Adam buzzed in.
"Adam?" Mario called out.
"Viridi," Adam guessed.
"Viridi is correct! That means the Sonic Booms lose a player!" said Mario.
Wario was the first to be chosen.
"Oh, sure. Pick on the fat guy," Wario griped.
"Next question. What day was the very first strip of the comic cartoon Garfield?" Mario asked.
Bowser buzzed in.
"Bowser?" Mario called out.
"June 19th, 1978," Bowser answered.
"That is correct. That means one of the Diamond Sparklers is gone," said Mario.
That one was me. I was pulled in and strapped in.
"Bromigo!" Rod called out.
"Next question. Who identified the laws of gravity?" Mario asked.
Bowser buzzed in.
"Bowser?" Mario called out.
Bowser was thinking about it.
"Uhhhh...what was the question?" he asked.
"Repeat: who identified the laws of gravity?" Mario repeated.
Bowser didn't know and there was a buzz.
"Sorry, Bowser. You ran out of time. That means one of your players has to go," said Mario.
Alexis was next. She was seated next to Wario.
"Do not show me your garlic breath," she demanded viciously.
"Adam?" Mario called out.
"Isaac Newton," Adam answered.
"Isaac Newton is correct," said Mario. His players were safe. It was just three on three now.
"Next question. What United State is Hollywood found it?" Mario asked.
Adam buzzed in.
"Adam?" Mario called out.
"California," Adam answered.
"California is correct!" Mario announced. "What do we do with Bowser's team?"
"PUT ONE ON BOARD!" the crowd roared.
Condor was the next one on.
"That just leaves Eggman and you, Bowser," said Mario.
"We may still win this," said Kiki.
"Now then, here's the next question. Who is smarter than the average bear?" Mario asked.
Bowser buzzed in.
"Bowser!" Mario called out.
"Yogi Bear," Bowser answered.
"Yogi Bear is correct!" Mario announced. "Now, let's put one of the Diamond Sparklers on board!"
The next one was Kiki. That just left Rod and Adam.
"It's getting closer!" said Luigi.
"Next question. What does E equal?" Mario asked.
Bowser buzzed in right before Adam.
"MC²", Bowser answered.
"MC² is correct!" said Mario.
"Oh no!" Adam gasped.
Rod was taken onto the train.
"Just one more passenger to go for the yellow team," said Luigi.
"What am I gonna do?" Adam wondered.
"I guess this is it," said Bowser.
"Next question. What killed the cat?" Mario asked.
Bowser didn't know this one at all. Adam then saw Bowser thinking on this and buzzed in.
"Adam!" Mario called out.
"Curiosity," Adam answered.
"Curiosity is correct!" said Mario.
That meant Eggman was put on board his team's Ghost Train.
"This is it. The final question. Whoever gets it right will win the vacation to Japan and freedom from the Ghost Train," said Mario.
"Just get on with it!" Bowser demanded.
"Final question! What is the name of the giant clock tower in London?" Mario asked.
Bowser didn't know that one. He buzzed in.
"Bowser!" Mario called out.
"Uh...the Great Clock Tower of London?" he guessed.
"I'm sorry. That is incorrect," said Mario.
Adam buzzed in.
"Adam! For the win!" Mario called out.
"Big Ben!" Adam answered.
"Big Ben is correct! You won the game!" said Mario.
We were all free from the Ghost Train.
"Just in time. We almost got sent down the tunnel to Hell," I said.
"Good thing on that last question," said Rod.
"That's for sure," said Kiki.
Bowser was taken on board the Ghost Train.
"And now, pull the lever, Adam!" said Mario.
Adam pulled the lever and sent the villains down the Ghost Train's tunnel which was really frightening. They came out of the tunnel on the other side.
"At least it's over," said Bowser.
"Not quite," said Mario.
"Uh-oh..." said the villains.
They were dropped down into the Gunk Tank where they were covered in gunk.
"I forgot about that part," said Eggman.
"We all did," said Condor.
"Congratulations, Diamond Sparklers! You are on your way to the beautiful country Japan!" Mario announced.
We were all excited.
"We saved the day and won a vacation!" Sabrina cheered.
"Now that's a bonus!" Rod added.
"Thanks for watching this special edition of Get Your Own Back! I'm Mario!" Mario announced.
"And I'm Luigi!" Luigi added.
"See you later!" they said together.

The show was over and the villains kept their word and were sent away.
"Man, that was a lousy display," said Eggman.
"We almost had them too," said Alexis.
"Next time, for sure, we will get back at them," said Condor.
"I doubt it," said Wario.
"Right now, I'm just glad we're not in the same cell," said Bowser.
They were all in different cells, trying to get the whole thing of them getting humiliated on public TV out of their heads.

We were enjoying our little vacation in Japan.
"Boy, this is awesome," said Rod.
"So much Japanese culture in one sitting," I said.
"Maybe we could see some famous sites," said Kiki.
"I'd love to see every parts of this fine country," said Sabrina.
"And best of all, we got to go here by winning one of my favorite game shows," said Adam.
While we were sightseeing, there were ads for Get Your Own Back returning to the UK this Fall.
"Take a look at that!" said Rod.
"Why I'll be," said Adam.
They looked at the writing and got a good translation of what's going on there.
"Looks like our broadcast there has brought back an old classic," I said.
"I guess it just needed a little hero vs villain episode," said Rod.
"Now everyone's gonna wanna watch this," said Sabrina.
"It's a game show even Japan is amused with," said Kiki.
"Boy, if Dave Benson Phillips and Lisa Brockwell could see this now," said Adam.

In the UK, they were watching the revival of their show.
"Sure brings back memories," said Dave.
"It may not be as good as the original, but it's nice to see it again," said Lisa.
The show was back and better than ever. Maybe not better than ever, but it was definitely back. Everyone was ready to watch.
