JUMP Episode 174

After the recent wreckage that was the Sinful Seven's attempt at awakening the lost and forgotten kingdom of Agartha, the streets of San Francisco had seen better days as of late. It was gonna take a little while for everything to be back to the way it was, but everyone was just glad that all was alright.
"Well, it look like it'll be some time before we get this fixed, but in the meantime, we are at least more than thankful that we had our own JUMP agents to help with that task," said the mayor.
Everyone cheered for JUMP while they were still a little tired from their recent mission.
"This is going to be big with my colleagues," said Orlando.
Of course, not everyone was celebrating. STUPID was just hanging back and watching it all from afar.
"How come we don't get our credit where credit is due?" Alexis asked.
"It's for the best. After all, we are not like them," said Mind Game.
Nefarion was looking through their mail and then saw something.
"What's this?" he asked.
"What are you talking about?" Mind Game asked.
They both got something in the mail. It was from someone familiar to them.
"My own father is coming to see me..." said Nefarion.
"And my parents, too," said Mind Game.

JUMP Opening 9A

Episode 174: Together Like A Family

Nefarion and Mind Game both hadn't seen their own parents or guardians in a long time. And Alexis knows that she didn't really want anything to do with a certain someone.
"I can't believe that our own parents are going to see us after all these years!" Nefarion exclaimed.
"How did they know exactly that we lived in a place like this?" Mind Game wondered.
"That's the last thing I think you need to know," said Alexis.
The two evil geniuses were doing what they could to get the place all spruced up for the big visit. Alexis wasn't really gonna help out.
"Alexis, aren't you going to help us?" Mind Game asked.
"Not really. I just don't have anyone coming over, so I don't feel like helping out," said Alexis.
"Just do it before I blow a gasket!" Nefarion ordered.
"Alright, alright, I'll help out around the lair," said Alexis.
They called up their other members of STUPID such as Laugh Track, Aloysius, and the Litterbug. Beverly wasn't there due to a recent heist settled in court.
"We need you guys to help us clean up the lair for our parents," said Nefarion.
"CLEAN?!" the Litterbug shouted in horror as he ran out the door.
"That guy really has no sense of hygiene," said Alexis.

And so, Aloysius and Laugh Track were getting busy with their parts in cleaning up the lair. A thought had occurred to Alexis.
"You know, guys, I don't think you ever mentioned anything about your folks," she told them.
"Well, I suppose it would only make sense as to what it was like back then," said Nefarion.

Flashback

"The Nefarion family tree had consisted of nothing but a long line of evil geniuses that were strike fear into the hearts of the world. Each one was more nefarious and dastardly than the last generation. When my time had finally come, I wanted to at least try to make a difference to the Nefarion name by doing something spectacular to benefit the people of the world instead of terrorize them. It was my dream to try something different. But I just hadn't been able to benefit the world by any means at all. Instead, I had no choice. I followed into the family tradition," Nefarion explained.

End flashback

"It was just my luck that I couldn't think of one decent and sure-fire idea that would make everyone love me for philanthropy, benevolence, or something that would really show how I would have cared for the world," Nefarion explained.
"And as for me..." Mind Game started.

Flashback

"It all started back in my college years. I wasn't always the maniacal big-headed brainiac that you have come to know. No, I started off with fine academic achievements and helping my colleagues out. However, my genius did not go as well known around the school or the state for that matter. They were more fascinated in other subjects and mysteries of the world than they were of my brilliant ideas. With that, I was forced to show them one way or another. I had gone mad and nearly taken out the school with one of my more patented inventions. Having gone too far with that, I was expelled and forced into isolation, where my genius remained unknown to all," Mind Game explained.

End flashback

"And that is why I am what I am today," said Mind Game.
Alexis was pretty intrigued with it for once.
"So, that's how it came to be. Well, as for me...I don't think you wanna hear it," said Alexis.
"If you insist," said Nefarion.
"In the meantime, let's quit lollygagging and get back to work," said Mind Game.
They were hurrying and making sure that the place looked extra nice.

Soon enough, the lair was just fine and dandy. Perfectly suited for a family reunion. Just then, someone was approaching their lair.
"They're here!" said Mind Game.
They opened up the door only to find that it was Jack of the Skater Boys.
"Jack?" Alexis asked.
"Hey, Lex. How's it going?" Jack asked.
"You?! One of those skater kids?" Nefarion asked.
"You got a problem with that?" Jack asked.
"Jack, what are you doing here? I thought you were going back to Pasadena after we settled the whole Argatha episode!" Alexis told her cousin.
"Relax. I'm just staying a little longer before I head back. Plus, since we're all taking a break after that, I figured I should at least see my cousin before I left," Jack explained.
"COUSIN?!" Nefarion and Mind Game gasped.
Alexis was so embarrassed when that was revealed.
"Yes. You heard him right," said Alexis.
"We're cousins and it's a bit of a funny story," said Jack.
"It was already told a few seasons back. He got custody of everything in a divorce and I turned bitter from it," Alexis said to make it short, sweet, and to the point.
"Well, as long as he doesn't ruin our family reunion, we're fine," said Nefarion.
"So, you're having family over? That sounds cool," said Jack.
"Yes. Cool. And totally wack, yo!" Mind Game said trying to sound cool. Alexis just smacked him with a Sonic Boom for that.
"We may be called STUPID, but that was just idiotic," said Alexis.
"Okay, I deserve that," Mind Game admitted.

Soon enough, Nefarion and Mind Game's folks arrived at the lair.
"This is the place..." said Nefarion's father sounding a bit wheezy.
"It's gonna be so nice to see our son again," Mind Game's Mom.
"Indeed it is," Mind Game's Dad agreed.
They stepped in and Nefarion and Mind Game were there to introduce them.
"Welcome, mother and father!" said Mind Game.
"Father! So good to see you!" Nefarion greeted. "Or is it so evil to see you?"
Nefarion's father looked as if he was on his last leg with an oxygen tank and a hunch back. Nefarion's parents looked a bit like him only without the bulbous brained cranium he developed in his years.
"Sonny!" said his dad.
"Oh, Demetri! How good to see you again!" said his mom.
Alexis chuckled.
"Demetri? Really?" she asked.
"Mom! I told you, I go by Mind Game now!" Mind Game, or Demetri, told her.
"This is too rich," said Alexis.
"He must not like that name all too much," said Jack.

Nefarion's father looked at the group there.
"So, I see this is the whippersnappers that you have recruited into your army?" he asked.
"Well...I suppose when you put it that way," said Nefarion.
"Greetings. Oswald Nefarion's the name. I see you have gotten to know my boy for quite some time now," he greeted them.
"I'm not really here as one of them. I'm just seeing my cousin," said Jack.
"I'm Alexis and that's Demetri," Alexis introduced.
"MIND GAME!" Mind Game corrected hastily.
"So, Oswald, you're from a long line of evil geniuses, huh?" Aloysius asked.
"Wow! You look older than the Eiffel Tower! But with less arch support at that," said Laugh Track.
Oswald smacked Laugh Track with his cane for that joke.
"I may not be as sinister as I was in my prime, but I know just how to deal out the right punishment," he said.

They were all looking around the place. Mind Game's parents were really fascinated with it.
"And this is where we come up with our dastardly deeds to take out the agency that has been stopping our schemes for years, JUMP," said Mind Game.
"Oh, George! Just look at how well laid out that map is!" said Mind Game's mom.
"It sure is a fine looking map, Betsy," said George.
"You are one smart boy, Demetri," said Betsy.
"Demetri is no more! I'm Mind Game now! Especially in front of my friends!" said Mind Game.
"You call this dump a lair? It's far too clean and bright! A real evil genius's lair is always cast in shadows and gloomier than Edgar Allen Poe's poetry!" Oswald complained.
"We were making sure that we didn't have any mildew problems around here. The times have really changed, after all, father," Nefarion told him.
Jack and Alexis were seeing just how well they were getting along.
"Come on. Let's leave them be," said Alexis.
"Gotcha," said Jack.

The skater and the Sonic Boomer were looking on at the sky.
"So, Alexis, how things went between the settlement between your dad and my mom..." Jack stated.
"Yeah?" Alexis asked.
"Is that why you stole that prototype suit?"
"Pretty much. My dad was so upset to have his heart broken and be pretty much put out on the streets after losing everything. I haven't seen him ever since, and I just really wish I could see just how he's doing."
She was really saddened by such an event.
"And your life of crime?" Jack asked.
"I guess you can say it gave me something to do. I just haven't been able to satisfy that void down there," Alexis answered.
It was pretty tough for Alexis to be the way she was, but she knew that she wasn't gonna forgive the world too easily.
"Maybe someday, we can find your dad and have all of it fixed," said Jack.
"That'll be the day," Alexis sighed.

Meanwhile, the evil geniuses were busy catching up on their old timers.
"So, old timer, what have you been up to?" Nefarion asked.
"Ah, things have not quite been the same since I hung up my lab coat and left the Nefarion name over to you. I knew you would make me proud, what with your giving up on your desire to change the Nefarion name and all, but I have yet to hear an accomplishment about it," said Oswald.
"We've been trying to stop JUMP from ruining our plans for world domination. That's been our main goal," said Mind Game.
"And just how long have you been after this JUMP?" Betsy asked.
"For about 7 seasons now," said Nefarion.
"It's been quite a long time," Mind Game added.
"Well, no wonder you haven't told me about any accomplishments. You've been after the same group for years now. Have you ever thought of the perfect plan to stop them?" Oswald questioned.
They showed them all the failed attempts in the past.
"Right there. All of our failed attempts that we have used in the past to stop them and conquer the world," said Mind Game.
"My, that's quite a record," said George.
"You have no idea," said Nefarion.

The parents had some sort of things to remember their kids by and wanted to give them to them.
"Son, we know times have been tough for you, but we have something to give you," said George.
He handed him his old photo of what he was like before he had become a super-genius bent on world domination.
"This! This is the last photo of me you took before I became Mind Game!" said Mind Game.
He was being teary eyed as the memories came back to him.
"You kept it after all these years?" Mind Game asked.
"Of course, dear. We wouldn't wanna forget," said Betsy.
Mind Game gave them a big hug and was overwhelmed with such emotion.
"Oh, thank you so much!" he thanked them.
"And I got something for you, son. I got you your very first invention from when you followed in our footsteps," said Oswald holding it up.
"I remember this! It was used to shut down all the power in a building and allow me to raid their belongings," said Nefarion.
He would never forget. The memories were so touching.
"That's my boy," said Oswald.

Jack and Alexis were having a nice time out in the city. While Alexis was still a little downtrodden about the past, at least she was feeling better that her cousin Jack was hanging out with her. Even if they weren't exactly in the same alliance as each other, they were still family. They had some pretzels and ice cream to enjoy a day at San Francisco.
"You know, Jack, I think a day from all of the crime and villainy was just what I needed to clear my head," said Alexis.
"I'm just happy to hear you're feeling better now," said Jack.
In a way, Jack was like a real friend to Alexis. Whenever there was no battle between them and they weren't going at each other's throats in the name of evil or justice, they did seem to be enjoying each other's company.
"I don't want this day to ever end," said Alexis.
"Yeah. It's gonna be a real shame," said Jack.
They knew just how things would go back to how they usually were when it was all over. But they were savoring every moment.

As they headed back to the lair, Jack gave her a little keepsake.
"Here. I want you to have this," said Jack.
He handed her something from before the divorce.
"Is that your special Roller Skates Of The World trading card?" Alexis asked.
"Paul Blazer. My hero and inspiration for me to take up roller skating and become a skater boy," said Jack.
"Gee...thanks," said Alexis.
She then handed him a little something.
"Here. You can have this. It's the necklace you made me when I first visited you," said Alexis.
"Wow. After all these years, it's still as beautiful from the day I made it," he said. They were really happy. It was gonna be heartbreaking to see them go back to their usual bout.
"This is the best day I ever had," they said together.

The other parents were having a good time as well. Aloysius and Laugh Track were just now standing in the background.
"Do we have any further addition to the plot?" Laugh Track asked.
"No. We're just guests," said Aloysius.
"Well, Demetri, you really have shown your determination and desire to keep going even after many failures," said George.
"It's what I do," said Mind Game.
"We see that after what happened to you in college, you had a bit of a drastic change that made you feel good about who you are," said Betsy.
"So, you're not mad about what happened?" Mind Game asked.
"Mad? No, of course not! As long as you're happy with the choice you made, that's what matters most," said George.
"And if you're happy, we're happy," said Betsy.
"Thanks, guys," said Mind Game.
"Son, I've only got a few years left in me, so I want to make sure that you remember this day with me as we have it go out with a bang," said Oswald.
"How do we do that?" Nefarion asked.
Oswald took out a blue print for a great weapon.
"Father...it's beautiful!" Nefarion commented.
"What do you say, son? How about we make it together for old times sake?" Oswald suggested.
"I'd love to," said Nefarion.

And so, they got to work on that weapon as shown on the schematic.
"This is great! Nothing like a father and son working together to make their dreams come true!" said Nefarion.
"You'll go down in the Nefarion family as the greatest genius who had ever lived with the most powerful and deadliest weapon of them all!" said Oswald.
"Finally! I have found my calling!" said Nefarion.
The machine was soon complete and ready to be used for its special purpose.
"This is it, my boy! The Vulcan Pulverizer! My final invention before I retired! And with its amazing powers, we can turn this city into ashes with just a mere pull of that lever!" said Oswald.
"It's even more glorious than I imagined," said Nefarion.
"Let's test it out!" said Oswald.
They pulled it and it instantly vaporized it.
"And that's how it's done!" said Oswald.
"Come on, papa! Let's destroy JUMP together! A father son moment I'll never forget!" said Nefarion.

Just as Jack and Alexis were just about in sight of the lair, they were just about ready to call it a day.
"Well, I guess that should do it for us, huh?" Jack asked.
"Probably," said Alexis.
They still had the keepsakes they gave each other and knew that this wasn't the end for them. Deep down, they had a feeling they could still be good cousins.
"I'm really glad you took the time to see me, Jack," said Alexis.
"Well, Lex, I knew I couldn't leave without saying goodbye to-" Jack started.
Just then, a powerful beam came shooting across the sky. It was from the Vulcan Pulverizer.
"What was that?!" Alexis wondered.
"It came from...the lair!" Jack pointed out.
"Okay, what are they up to right now? I thought we were taking a little holiday from this!" Alexis ranted.
They hurried on over there.

Nefarion and Oswald were having quite a time with their device.
"This is absolutely perfect. Now we can finally say goodbye to JUMP once and for all! And we'll do it as a family!" said Nefarion.
"On the cunt of three, sonny," said Oswald.
"1...2..." they counted.
"THREE!" Alexis shouted as she hit them with a Sonic Boom.
"What are you doing, Alexis?" Nefarion asked.
"Are you betraying us?" Mind Game thought.
"No. I'm just upset that you took your time in catching up with your folks to try to destroy JUMP!" Alexis answered.
"But you don't understand! My father made the ultimate weapon!" Nefarion told her.
"Yeah? Well, I'm gonna turn it into the ultimate rust bucket!" said Alexis.
She threw another at them and Nefarion countered it with a laser gun.
"My father and I will not allow it!" said Nefarion.
"Mom, dad, I think we should leave the room right now," Mind Game suggested.
"I see. It's one of those feuds that tend to go off every now and then," said George.
They left the room while leaving those two sides to fight.

Nefarion and Oswald were loaded with weapons while Jack and Alexis were going at it with their bare hands and natural abilities.
"You ruined such a touching father/son moment!" said Nefarion.
"And you almost ruined my good day!" said Alexis. She fired a flurry of Sonic Booms at them.
"Get down!" Oswald shouted.
They got down and Jack came in skating at them and knocking their guns right out of their hands.
"We'll have none of that!" said Jack.
Nefarion took out his syringe and started swinging it at Jack to inject him with something likely to be toxic.
"Hey! What are you trying to do to my cousin?" Alexis asked.
She Sonic Boomed the syringe right out of the doc's hand, making him cringe in pain from it.
"She's quite a feisty fighter," Oswald thought.
"One of the best criminals in the bay area," Jack pointed out.
Mind Game was watching all the action right through the window and could tell that it was starting to get ugly.
"Is it over yet, Demetri?" Betsy asked.
"Not yet," said Mind Game.

Alexis was about to finish Nefarion with a big punch in the face.
"This is for ruining my best day ever!" said Alexis.
"You might have me, but what about my papa?" Nefarion reminded her.
"Sorry, son. I guess I'll have to take care of this myself," said Oswald.
He was about to pull the lever and Jack suddenly threw an oil can at his hand, knocking it off the lever.
"Don't even think about it, old timer!" said Jack.
Alexis then inflated her suit and landed right on top of the Vulcan Pulverizer, smashing it into a pulp of many shattered pieces.
"There! How do you like it?" she asked.
"Oh, fiddlesticks," Oswald sighed.
"Well, that does it for that family feud," said Jack.
"Once again, I have failed miserably..." said Nefarion.
"That should teach you," said Alexis.

After the plan to vaporize JUMP HQ was foiled by a very unlikely duo, Nefarion was more than downtrodden.
"I can't believe it. My conquest shattered by my own ally," said Nefarion.
"Nefarion, listen. Today, we were supposed rekindle our relationships with our families. And instead, you and your dad were doing what you had been known to do best: making mischief," said Alexis.
"Well...it's just that my dad had made such an incredible machine that I simply had to do it with him. But now he and I are not gonna be able to pull it off," said Nefarion.
Oswald came up to his son and consoled him.
"Oh, don't feel bad, sonny. I know that deep down, you have the true passion of an evil genius and will never give up," Oswald consoled his son.
"You really think so?" Nefairon asked.
"I know so," Oswald answered.
Nefarion was feeling a little teary-eyed there.
"Thank you, father. I'll do what I can to make you proud," said Nefarion.
They hugged together and had a very happy moment together. The other families felt the same.

Soon enough, it was time for the families to be heading off. They were all upset to have to say goodbye so soon.
"Demetri...I mean, Mind Game...you do what you feel is right to you and be happy," said Betsy.
"Thanks, mom," Mind Game thanked.
"Don't forget to write, son," said George.
"I won't," said Mind Game.
They shook hands and knew all would be well.
"Well, son, it's time for this old codger to make like a candidate and run," said Oswald.
"Gee, dad, it went by so quickly. Just promise me you'll come back anytime," Nefarion told his old man!
"You can count on it," said Oswald.
They shook hands and were happy to remind themselves of their old times. And finally, there was Jack and Alexis.
"Well, soon enough, I'll be heading on back to Pasadena," said Jack.
"And you'll know why I'm out there committing crimes all over the bay area," said Alexis.
"You got that right, cuz," said Jack.
They hugged each other and were more than happy to have grown fonder of and closer to each other.
"I'll see you around," said Jack.
"Later, cuz," said Alexis.
With that, the families departed.
"We'll miss you! Bye!" they called out.
And their relatives were giving them a good farewell as well.
"Goodbye! Have a safe trip!" they shouted.
They had a really happy day.

In the end, all was well to a very good day for STUPID. From the looks of things, they were just more than happy to have seen their families after all this time. They knew that they would see them again soon enough. They may have been evil and criminal, but they still knew that family mattered more than anything. It was one day that they would never forget. And Alexis was certainly not gonna forget something else.
"Demetri..." she giggled.
"STOP CALLING ME THAT!!!" Mind Game shouted.
"Yes. We are also like one big happy family. Sort of," said Nefarion.
Tomorrow was sure to be another day of crime for them, but today was definitely the best day all three of them ever had in their lives.
